The Great Gatsby Style with Brooks Brothers

What isn’t there to love about The Great Gatsby?  Okay, well, maybe the film has received some mixed reviews, but the style is top notch!  Though there were several fingers in the pot for the film’s costumes, the company that has the cinema and fashion world abuzz is the Brooks Brothers.  It’s no surprise why – the men’s fashion company was mentioned numerous times in Fitzgerald’s writing.  He felt, and we agree, that Brooks Brothers was the ultimate purveyor of fine clothing to distinct and classy American Men – and who could fit that bill better than Jay Gatsby himself?

New York based Brooks Brothers is the oldest men’s clothier chain in the US of A. They were founded in 1818 by Henry Sands Brooks as a family business.  You could say they have done quite well, outfitting 39 out of 44 American Presidents, including Abraham Lincoln.  Sadly he was assassinated while wearing one of their coats.

The Brooks Brothers released their The Great Gatsby Collection to correspond with the new Baz Luhrmann film.  We can see that they have maintained their posh style, hitting home with some classic looks to match their history and the Great Gatsby era.

This stylish combination is comprised of the Tattersall Vest, the Slim Fit Golf Collar Striped Dress Shirt, the Brown, Red and White Lattice Bow Tie and The Light Brown Linen Trousers.  This intelligent and incredibly well made look is sure draw attention.

A classic suit that is both upper class and modest.  This ensemble features all of the above plus the classic The Great Gatsby Collection Wool Linen Jacket.

The ultimate Jay Gatsby look has to be the tuxedo.  Gatsby is nothing if not rich and unabashed.  This ensemble features the Peak Lapel Tuxedo Jacket, Slim Fit Ten-Pleat Tennis Collar Formal Shirt, Black Maze Batwing Bow Tie, and Onyx and Gold Stud set cufflinks.
